Description
The Concertino G4 is a 2-way bass reflex bookshelf speaker, designed by Sonus faber for compact stereo listening. It is installed on stands or in a bookshelf, in a living room or office where space must remain limited, without giving up careful sound reproduction.
The 1.1-inch DAD Arrow Point tweeter handles the treble frequencies from 1700 Hz, the crossover frequency separating it from the midwoofer. The latter, a 5.25-inch unit with a ferrite magnet, covers the rest of the spectrum. The stated frequency response ranges from 60 Hz to 25,000 Hz, placing this bookshelf speaker in a register capable of reproducing both bass and the highest harmonics. What to check before buying used
Check the surrounds of the 5.25-inch driver: hardened, cracked or perforated foam or rubber affects bass reproduction and may require reconditioning. Also inspect the DAD Arrow Point tweeter, which is sensitive to impact and humidity, as well as the dome for any deformation. Finally, check the condition of the cabinet (corners, veneer, edges) and ensure there is no play in the connectors located at the rear of the enclosure.
