Sonus faber Lumina Center I

The Lumina Center I is a 2-way centre speaker designed by Sonus faber to complement a stereo or home cinema listening system. It handles the reproduction of dialogue and the central voice channel in a multichannel installation, while forming part of the Lumina collection, positioned as an accessible entry point into the brand's Italian craftsmanship.

Its configuration is based on two 12 cm woofer/midrange drivers with cellulose pulp and natural fibre cones, paired with a D.A.D. (Damped Apex Dome) 2.9 cm silk dome tweeter. The bass-reflex loading with front-firing port makes it easier to integrate into a cabinet or a confined space, without requiring clearance at the rear. The crossover frequency is set at 2000 Hz, with a filter whose amplitude and phase response has been optimised for coherence between the two drive units.

With a sensitivity of 87 dB/2.83 V/m and an impedance of 4 ohms, this centre speaker can be driven by amplifiers ranging from modest to high power, with a recommended power range of 30 to 100 W RMS. Its frequency response, quoted from 65 Hz to 24 kHz, makes it suited to use alongside a subwoofer or main speakers capable of handling the lower end of the spectrum.

This model is aimed at those building or completing a carefully assembled home cinema installation, seeking timbral coherence with other speakers in the Lumina range, or for whom the natural wood and black leather finish, along with Italian manufacture, matter as much as sound performance.
