Sonus faber Lumina V

The Lumina V is a 3-way floorstanding speaker designed by Sonus faber, made in Italy. It is positioned at the front of a stereo hi-fi system to reproduce the full sound spectrum, from low to high frequencies, via a bass-reflex configuration with a front-firing port.

Its architecture is based on three distinct ways: two 16.5 cm woofers with a cellulose pulp and syntactic foam sandwich cone, a 15 cm midrange driver with a cellulose pulp and natural fibre cone, and a 2.9 cm D.A.D. silk dome tweeter. The crossover frequencies, set at 260 Hz and 2600 Hz, define the division of work between these three drivers, with a filter refined in amplitude and phase according to a Para-cross topology. With a sensitivity of 89 dB/2.83 V/m and an impedance of 4 ohms, it accepts a recommended power of between 50 and 300 W RMS, a range compatible with amplifiers of varying power outputs. Its frequency response extends from 38 Hz to 24 kHz. The bi-amping terminal allows the power supply for the bass and treble ways to be separated, enabling finer tuning of the installation's wiring.
