The Omnia is an all-in-one active speaker designed by Sonus faber to handle both music listening and television sound on its own. It brings together amplification, drivers and connectivity in a single unit, without requiring a separate amplifier or additional speakers.
Its stated total power output is 490 watts, spread across seven drivers: two 76 mm midrange/woofer units with cellulose pulp cones, two 19 mm silk dome tweeters with neodymium magnets, a 165 mm woofer with an aluminium cone, plus two 44.5 mm inverted dome wide-range drivers positioned on either side of the cabinet. These last two make use of reflections from surrounding walls to widen the soundstage, an approach Sonus faber calls Crescendo technology. Frequency response is quoted as 20 Hz-20 kHz (+/- 2 dB), and a Room Placement function offers equalisation presets to adapt the sound to the room.
The wooden top panel houses the SENSO touch interface, with lighting and sensors, which allows the speaker to be controlled directly, alongside the remote control or a mobile app. In terms of connectivity, the Omnia has an HDMI ARC port for connecting a television, a DIN input compatible with a line and phono RCA adapter for connecting a turntable, an RJ45 Ethernet input and a power port. It also supports streaming via Spotify, Tidal, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast.

What to check before buying used
The solid wood panel on top houses the SENSO touch interface: check that the sensors and lighting respond correctly and that the surface shows no scratches or marks from finger use. The cones of the side-mounted inverted dome drivers, exposed on either side of the cabinet, are particularly vulnerable to knocks and denting. It is also worth checking that the power delivered by the built-in amplification remains consistent across all seven drivers, with no distortion or crackling at high volume, which could indicate ageing of the internal electronic components.
