Description
This wall mount is designed specifically to hold the Sonos Sub subwoofer. It allows the unit to be fixed directly to the wall rather than placed on the floor, freeing up floor space and reducing visual clutter in the listening room.
The mount is built from 3 mm steel, a thickness that gives it substantial rigidity and ensures a secure fixing for the subwoofer, whose weight and the vibrations generated during bass reproduction place considerable strain on the anchor point. Rubber isolators are built into the assembly: they absorb the vibrations specific to the subwoofer and limit resonance effects that could otherwise be transmitted to the wall.
Installation is via a simple hook system, designed for easy fitting without any complex operation. The fixings required for installation are included with the mount.
This mount is aimed at users of a Sonos system equipped with a Sub who wish to install it up on the wall rather than on the floor, whether for aesthetic reasons, to save space, or due to room layout constraints.
What to check before buying used
The rubber isolators at the anchor point deserve close inspection: over the years they can harden, crack or lose their elasticity, allowing the subwoofer's vibrations to be transmitted to the wall. The hook and steel plate should be checked for signs of corrosion, play, or slight deformation caused by the weight supported over time. The originally supplied fixings are sometimes incomplete on a unit that has already been removed and refitted.
