Supra Lorad MD06 SP MK3
Shielded aluminium 6-outlet Supra mains block with RF filtering and active protection, designed to limit domestic electrical interference.
Description
The Supra Lorad MD06 SP MK3 is a multi-outlet mains block dedicated to audio and hi-fi installations. It combines six outlets on a shielded aluminium chassis, together with RF filtering and active protection, with the aim of limiting electrical disturbances liable to affect listening quality.
This MK3 version marks an evolution from previous generations of the Supra range. The IEC chassis is now manufactured by a German specialist, which improves the build quality of the mains connectors. The aluminium profiles come from Sweden, and final assembly is carried out at Supra's new factory. The unit's aluminium shielding is designed to reduce standing noise generated by common sources such as mobile phones, DECT phones, light dimmers or other domestic electrical equipment.
This type of mains block is aimed at hi-fi enthusiasts wishing to optimise the power supply of their system, particularly in environments where several electronic devices or household appliances may generate interference. It suits those looking to connect several components of a system (amplifier, player, DAC, etc.) to a single filtered power point.
What to check before buying used
With this type of mains block, attention should focus mainly on the IEC outlets: contacts loosened by repeated unplugging can affect cable retention and the quality of the electrical contact. Also check the condition of the aluminium chassis (dents, corrosion of assembly screws) as well as the proper functioning of the active protection and RF filtering, whose effectiveness may deteriorate over time or with heavy use.
