Description
The T+A Caruso Blu is a complete stereo system integrated into a single enclosure, designed to offer a refined listening experience without multiplying separate components. It succeeds a previous model whose general spirit it retains, with a refined exterior design and an entirely revised internal design, incorporating updated technologies and components.
The unit can play a wide range of sources: BluRay, CD and DVD player, Internet radio, networked music servers, USB sticks or drives, Bluetooth transfer from a mobile device, DAB+ and VHF radio, as well as analogue sources such as a turntable connected via a phono preamplifier, or digital sources such as a television or set-top box.
Sound reproduction relies on five built-in speaker systems, driven by three power amplifiers each delivering 50 watts continuous, coupled directly to the drivers. An active crossover unit splits the signal according to the active speaker principle, allowing precise control over what reaches each speaker. A built-in digital processor also allows different sound character settings, to adapt the reproduction according to the unit's placement, whether on a cabinet, a desk or a shelf.
This all-in-one format is aimed at those seeking a system that is simple to live with day to day, capable of covering many uses without multiplying devices: morning music listening, streaming from a smartphone, radio reception or record playback. Control is via the built-in controls on the unit, a dedicated remote control or the T+A control app, for simple access to the full range of functions despite the richness of the equipment.

What to check before buying used
On this all-in-one system, the BluRay/CD/DVD optical drive and tray mechanism deserve a full playback test, including with a slightly marked disc, as a worn sensor results in freezing or skipping during playback. The Bluetooth, DAB+ and network modules should be checked under real conditions to ensure they connect without dropping out. Also listen to each built-in speaker separately at moderate volume and then louder, to detect any imbalance between the five active speakers or distortion on one of the three power amplifiers.
