Description
The Music Player is a digital hub designed by the German manufacturer T+A, belonging to the E Series. It brings together in a single unit a CD player, a digital-to-analogue converter, an FM tuner and a network streamer, with the aim of centralising several digital audio sources within the same hi-fi system.
The built-in CD player supports standard CDs as well as CD-R/RW discs and the CD Text format. The network streamer allows file playback via UPnP in several formats, including FLAC, WAV, AAC, MP3 and WMA, as well as listening to internet radio. The unit also features a built-in FM tuner, rounding out the range of available sources without any additional equipment.
In terms of connectivity, the Music Player offers USB 2.0, coaxial and optical digital inputs, as well as an iPod dock, allowing various external sources to be connected and to benefit from the onboard digital-to-analogue conversion for all these inputs.
This type of unit is aimed at enthusiasts wishing to bring together several digital sources, CD, network, FM radio, USB devices or iPod, around a single central component, rather than multiplying separate components within their system.

What to check before buying used
The CD tray, subjected to numerous ejections, may show some play or hesitant closing to check when loading a disc. The optical block of the built-in player wears over time and deserves a playback test on CD-R/RW in addition to a standard pressed CD. The iPod dock, designed for older Apple models, may prove incompatible with a recent device, which should be confirmed before any purchase intended for this use.
