Description
The TEAC NP-H750-S is a network integrated amplifier that combines power amplification, digital conversion and network playback within a single chassis. It thus replaces several separate devices in a hi-fi installation and allows music to be streamed over a network while directly driving speakers.
The amplification stage delivers 2 × 40 W into 6 Ω. Digital conversion is handled by a Burr-Brown PCM1795 DAC operating at 32 bits, a component renowned for its precision, which processes both network streams and wired digital inputs. The unit accepts digital sources via its coaxial, optical and asynchronous USB inputs, the latter accepting files up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. On the network side, it integrates AirPlay, the DLNA 1.5 protocol and a Wi-Fi or LAN connection, allowing streaming from a smartphone, a network library or an AirPlay-compatible service without additional cabling. An MM phono input is also present, allowing a turntable fitted with a moving magnet cartridge to be connected directly. The stated frequency response spans 20 Hz to 60 kHz.

What to check before buying used
The motorised potentiometer is worth testing across its full travel, listening out for crackling or an imbalance between channels. The network module (Wi-Fi, AirPlay, DLNA) is best tried under real conditions, as some older firmware versions lose compatibility with current apps. The power supply stage capacitors, stressed by the 2 × 40 W output, can dry out over time and dull the sound's dynamics. Finally, the MM phono input as well as the USB, coaxial and optical connectors are worth testing with each source to rule out any loose contact.
