Transrotor Zet 1

The Transrotor Zet 1 is a German belt-driven turntable, built around a high-gloss polished acrylic chassis, available in black or white finish. It belongs to a range designed to evolve over time, both in its playback equipment and its motor drive.

The aluminium platter weighs 10 kg and takes a black antistatic synthetic mat; an aluminium clamping weight completes the set. The turntable rests on three height-adjustable spikes, placed on three independent feet, a design intended to limit vibrations transmitted to the platter. The motor, mounted on the base, drives the platter via a rubber belt, and switching from 33 to 45 rpm is done by simply moving the belt on the motor spindle. Audio output is via a non-removable stereo RCA cable, fitted with a earth pin.

The Zet 1 can be supplied bare, without tonearm or cartridge, or in standard configuration with a Rega RB330 tonearm and an Uccello MM cartridge, or with a Rega RB880 tonearm and a Cantare MC cartridge. It also accepts numerous 9" and 12" tonearms as well as various cartridges fitted at the factory or installed later by Transrotor.

The model is designed for upgradability: it can accommodate a TMD bearing, a second tonearm with side-mounted motor on a dedicated foot, or even a twin-motor configuration positioned on either side of the platter, which then requires replacing the original power supply with a Konstant M-2 Reference unit. A matching table of the same design can also house a specific base for this twin-motor configuration.

This turntable is aimed at vinyl enthusiasts who already own a demanding system and wish to invest in a base capable of progressing over time, whether through the addition of a second tonearm, a second motor drive, or the choice of a higher-performing cartridge. It will suit those who appreciate finely finished acrylic work and simple yet carefully engineered mechanics.
