Description
The AIO Twin is an active bookshelf speaker from Triangle, designed to stream music over a network without going through a separate amplifier. Each speaker houses the electronics needed to receive an audio stream via Wifi, Bluetooth or a wired source, and reproduce it directly.
The stated power of 2 x 50 watts RMS in Class D is shared across the two speakers, for a frequency response of 56 Hz to 22 kHz (+/- 3 dB). Wifi streaming supports streams up to 24-bit / 192 kHz, as do the optical and coaxial inputs, while HD Bluetooth handles 24-bit / 44 kHz: enough to enjoy high sound quality both via network streaming and via direct wireless connection from a smartphone. The dedicated RCA phono input allows a turntable to be connected without an external phono stage, and a subwoofer output opens up the possibility of adding a subwoofer.

What to check before buying used
On an active speaker of this type, the built-in electronics are the key point to test first: power-up, Wifi recognition and Bluetooth pairing must all work without dropouts or unexpected restarts. Also check that each input (phono, optical, coaxial, USB) works properly, as well as the link between the two speakers in the pair, often connected by cable, to rule out any crackling or channel loss.
