Description
The Platinum HD Power is a mains cable designed for powering hi-fi equipment. It is intended to replace the original cord of an amplifier, a source, or any component in a system where the electrical supply affects sound reproduction.
The cable incorporates a shield protecting against magnetic radiation, made from pure copper and tin. The conductors, six in number, are made of pure CU-VHQ copper, giving a total cross-section of 4.5 mm². The live and neutral each benefit from separate double insulation, which limits interference between the two conductors. Damping rings in aluminium are fitted to the cable, and its SH70 silicone sheath provides good resistance to UV as well as chemical agents, an advantage for intensive or prolonged use. The manufacturer also states that the cable undergoes electrical pre-treatment by controlled current.
The connectors combine a Schuko-type mains plug, made from carbon to make identifying the live easier, with a three-pin IEC C15 connector on the equipment side. A version with IEC-320 or US-standard connectors can be offered on request.

What to check before buying used
Check the condition of the connectors, particularly the carbon Schuko plug, whose coating can scratch or dull with repeated plugging cycles, as well as the fit of the IEC C15 connector on the equipment side, which should remain firm to avoid any slight play. Also check the integrity of the SH70 silicone sheath along its full length: repeated handling or storage while folded can cause cracking or weaken the internal copper and tin shielding. Finally, test the cable's full electrical continuity before any purchase, as controlled-current pre-treatment cannot be verified by sight alone.
