Description
The Silver HD20 is a speaker cable designed to connect an amplifier to its speakers. It belongs to the Silver HD range from Viard Audio Design and sits within the very high-end bracket of power cabling, where conductor cross-section and terminal quality become installation parameters in their own right.
Its most visible signature is its white silicone outer sheath, developed to a specific set of requirements and shared across the entire Silver HD range. With a diameter of 20 mm, this cable is physically substantial; the sheath formulation offsets this bulk with unusually good flexibility, allowing for tight cable runs, reasonable bend radii behind a piece of furniture, and re-wiring without fighting the stiffness of the conductor.
As for terminations, the default configuration supplied is banana / banana, with gold-plated plugs. Two other combinations can be made to order, at no extra charge:
This choice of termination matters more than it might appear: not all amplifier and speaker terminals accept both formats interchangeably, and having all three options available allows the cable to be adapted to existing equipment rather than the other way round.
The Silver HD20 is intended for an accomplished stereo system, in which the electronics and speakers warrant carefully considered power cabling. Its excellent compliance and the sheath's resistance to ultraviolet light and chemical agents also make it suitable for intensive use, including in environments more exposed than a typical living room.

What to check before buying used
The flexible silicone sheath copes well with tight cable runs, but it is worth inspecting its surface along the full length: cuts, crush marks from behind furniture, or discolouration point to hard use. The gold-plated banana plugs should remain firmly crimped and free of play within the connector body, as should the spades in the case of an alternative termination, otherwise contact quality will degrade over time. Finally, check that both conductors retain the same length and flexibility from end to end, as a discrepancy may indicate a repair or a replaced section.
