Description
The Vincent SV-700 is a hybrid integrated amplifier belonging to the manufacturer's tubeLine series, recognisable by its visible valve on the front panel. It combines a valve preamplification stage with a transistor output stage, housed in a solid aluminium chassis fitted with cooling fins.
The preamplification stage uses three valves per channel, one 12AX7 and two 12AU7, operating on the SRPP (Shunt Regulated Push-Pull) principle. This design aims to limit interference and improve the distortion factor, resulting in a more precise rendering of low frequencies and better control in the midrange and treble. Power is supplied by a 500 Watt toroidal transformer, which keeps Panasonic capacitors permanently under voltage. On the output side, Toshiba transistors operate without negative feedback, a choice intended to preserve the sonic characteristics specific to the valve.

The Class A / Class AB selector on the front panel should be tested in both positions to rule out any faulty contact, as should the proper operation of the toroidal transformer under load.
