The Hurricane In Wall is the in-wall variant of the Hurricane satellite from Waterfall Audio. Where the original model sits on a piece of furniture or a stand, this variant is installed directly into the wall, freeing up the room's space entirely while retaining the acoustic behaviour of the satellite it derives from.
Its main selling point lies in its footprint: just 72 mm deep. This figure shapes everything else, as it determines the type of wall able to accommodate the speaker. Such a shallow depth opens the door to thin walls, slim stud partitions or spaces where the cavity behind the plasterboard is limited, situations in which many in-wall speakers simply do not fit. What to check before buying used
When buying an in-wall speaker used, a targeted inspection is required. Check that the mounting brackets or clamps that hold the speaker against the plasterboard are all present and operate correctly: these are what secure the unit, and they bend easily during removal. Then check the condition of the frame and edges, often marked from a removal carried out without care, as well as the flatness of the front grille.
