Description
The Iguasçu Evo is a 2-way floorstanding speaker designed by Waterfall Audio, a French brand recognised for its glass designs and proprietary ADT (Acoustic Damping Tube) technology. This model shares the same technological foundations as the Victoria Evo, with a carefully judged sound balance but somewhat more modest dynamic capabilities and bass extension than its larger sibling.
The speaker features three drivers across two ways: a 20 mm Atohm SD 20 tweeter, a 150 mm Atohm LD 150 woofer/midrange driver with a specific alloy diaphragm, and a 210 mm Atohm UFR 210 passive extreme-bass driver. This architecture, combined with the ADT tube, aims to structure the bass without resorting to a conventional port. The frequency response extends from 48 Hz to 28 kHz (±3 dB), with a sensitivity of 88 dB (2.83 V/1 m) and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, dropping to a minimum of 4 ohms.
With a peak power handling of 300 watts without clipping and a recommended amplification of between 40 and 150 watts, the Iguasçu Evo suits a wide range of integrated amplifiers or medium- to high-power stereo power amplifiers. What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the diaphragms on all three drivers, particularly the passive extreme-bass driver, whose performance depends directly on the acoustic coupling with the ADT tube. A visual check of the surrounds (tears, sagging) and listening at different volume levels can reveal any deformation or distortion. The glass finish, characteristic of Waterfall Audio, also warrants careful inspection for scratches, chips or impact marks on the panels.
