Description
The Serio is a bookshelf speaker from Waterfall Audio, designed to blend discreetly into an interior while retaining a strong visual identity. Its ultra-compact format makes it a model designed for installations where available space is limited, without sacrificing aesthetics.
Its construction relies exclusively on glass and aluminium, two materials that echo the design philosophy of the Hurricane Evo, here reworked in a miniaturised format. This approach gives the speaker clean lines and an almost sculptural presence, far from the usual dimensions of classic bookshelf speakers.
The Serio can be paired with the HF1 subwoofer to form a compact stereo system in a 2.1 configuration, or extended to five speakers and a subwoofer to form a home cinema set in 5.1. This modularity allows the installation to be adapted according to the intended use, whether musical or audiovisual.
The model is offered in three colours, with a dedicated range of accessories facilitating various placement options, wall-mounted or on a stand depending on the needs of the installation.

What to check before buying used
The glass and aluminium construction leaves the cabinet exposed to knocks on the edges and marks at the joints, which should be checked before any wall installation. The driver suspensions must remain supple and symmetrical from one speaker to the other to guarantee consistent performance in a 2.1 or 5.1 configuration. Checking the protective grilles and rear connectors also helps detect any play or oxidation resulting from prolonged use.
