Description
The WiiM Amp Pro is a connected stereo amplifier that combines a power amplification function with a built-in network player. It allows music to be streamed directly from streaming services or compatible devices, without going through a computer or a separate physical source, and to drive a pair of speakers at its output.
Its digital-to-analogue conversion relies on an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC compatible with 32-bit / 384 kHz, paired with a TI TPA3255 Class D amplification module. The unit delivers 2x60 watts RMS into 8 ohms, rising to 120 watts per channel into 4 ohms, allowing it to accommodate speakers of differing sensitivity and impedance. The signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.002% reflect a very low noise floor and sound reproduction faithful to the original signal.
On the connectivity side, the unit features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, with support for AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Bluetooth for wireless streaming, as well as compatibility with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri for voice control. It provides access to numerous streaming services (Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora, Napster, Apple Music, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, LinkPlay Radio, Spotify Connect) and offers a 10-band equaliser with 24 preset settings via the WiiM Home app.
This model is aimed at users wishing to put together a compact connected hi-fi system, without separate electronics, capable of receiving both streamed digital sources and wired devices via its RCA, optical, HDMI ARC or USB-A inputs.

What to check before buying used
The copper, aluminium and graphene heatsink is worth a visual check: make sure it has not been clogged with dust or damaged, as it governs amplification stability during extended use. Also test the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module along with the connection to the WiiM Home app, as some refurbished units may require a network reset. Finally, check that each input (RCA, optical, HDMI ARC, USB-A) works correctly and inspect the condition of the screw-terminal speaker binding posts.
