What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is worth checking the condition of the jacket along the full length of the cable, for the absence of cuts, sharp creases or crushing that could damage the internal strands. The connectors at each end should also be checked: oxidation, mechanical play or deformation of the 28 mm plugs can affect contact and therefore signal transmission. If the cable was installed recessed, it is also worth confirming that no section has been cut or re-spliced during a previous installation.
