Wireworld Nova

The Wireworld Nova is an optical cable designed for the transmission of digital audio signals, particularly for surround sound configurations. It connects a digital source to an amplifier or AV receiver via an optical link, relying on a PMMA fibre conductor rather than a conventional electrical connection.

Its distinctive feature lies in the nature of its conductor: a monofilament in PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) polished three times. This polishing process aims to limit jitter, that is, the micro timing variations of the digital signal during transmission. Reduced jitter results in a more stable reproduction of the digital signal when listening, a particularly sensitive point in multichannel audio streams where several pieces of information must remain synchronised.

This cable is intended for users equipped with a home cinema system or a hi-fi system featuring a digital optical connection, who are looking to ensure reliable signal transfer between their source and their amplifier or DAC. It applies both to installations using surround sound and to digital stereo configurations using this type of connection.

When buying used, attention should be paid to the condition of the optical connectors at each end, which should be free of scratches, dust or signs of wear that could degrade the passage of the light signal.
