Description
The Silver Eclipse 10 is a high-end speaker cable from Wireworld, offered as a pre-assembled set of two 3-metre lengths, with spade or banana terminations. It sits within the Eclipse range as a step up, just below the solid silver Platinum Eclipse 10 model.
The cable is built on an 8-conductor signal structure, with 96 insulated strands in total, in OCC-7N copper coated with a silver finish. This architecture, referred to by Wireworld as Octo DNA Helix, aims to limit loss of detail in the signal transmitted to the speakers. The cable gauge is 9AWG, equating to a cross-section of 6 mm², a value reflecting low electrical resistance suited to carrying power currents over several metres.
The cable has a diameter of 17 mm, with connectors measuring 41 mm in diameter once terminated. These dimensions should be taken into account during installation, particularly when handling the cable and considering the space available behind the speakers and amplifier.

What to check before buying used
On a cable of this gauge, wear shows up first at the terminations: spades or bananas must remain firmly crimped, with no play or signs of oxidation that would impair contact with the amplifier and speaker terminals. Also check that the silver-plated sheath is neither split nor crushed along its full length, as too tight a bend could weaken the internal strands. The 17 mm diameter also means checking that the cable has not been subjected to overly sharp bends, which would leave permanent kinks hindering its routing behind the equipment.
