Description
The Wireworld Silver Eclipse 10 is an interconnect cable designed to link the components of a high-end hi-fi system, available with XLR or RCA terminations. Positioned just below the Gold Eclipse 10 in the manufacturer's range, it targets systems with high-end components seeking the most faithful signal transmission possible, with preservation of musical detail and sonic dimensionality.
The cable is built on four signal conductors made up of 32 insulated strands, in grain-optimised OCC-7N silver-plated copper. Compared with the previous Silver Eclipse 8, this model doubles the number of strand groups, which helps better preserve low-level information and widen dynamic contrasts. The Composilex 5 insulation and DNA Helix design, patented by Wireworld, help reduce background noise and deliver a sound the manufacturer considers more realistic. The cross-section differs depending on the termination chosen: 18AWG (0.8 mm²) for RCA versions, 21AWG (0.4 mm²) for XLR versions. The plug contacts are silver-plated OFC on the RCA side, and silver-plated copper alloy on the XLR side.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check the condition of the XLR or RCA connectors, the absence of play or oxidation at the silver-plated contacts, as well as the integrity of the shielding and sheath along the full length of the cable, as any pronounced kink or damaged sheath may affect the quality of the connection.
