Wireworld Silver Starlight 10

The Silver Starlight 10 is a digital coaxial cable from Wireworld. Its function is precise: to carry a digital audio signal from one device to another, typically between a player or transport and the converter responsible for analogue playback. It is therefore neither an analogue interconnect nor a power link, but a link in the digital chain, whose quality determines the integrity of the transmitted data stream.

Two elements define its construction. The first is the internal geometry, referred to by Wireworld as Tri DNA Helix: the arrangement of the conductors within the cable is not left to chance but follows a helical layout specific to the manufacturer. The second is the nature of the metal used. The conductor is a silver-plated oxygen-free copper (OFC), a common combination in digital cabling: the oxygen-free copper ensures conduction across the whole cross-section, while the surface layer of silver acts on the highest frequencies, those that travel at the periphery of the conductor.

This cable is aimed at anyone with a separated system, comprising a digital source and a separate converter, who wishes to pay careful attention to the interconnection between the two. The four available lengths, from 0.5 m to 2.00 m, cover both the case of components stacked on the same unit and that of elements spread across several shelves or placed on either side of a system. The choice of length deserves consideration: a properly matched length is preferable to excess cable coiled up behind the rack.
