Xgimi HORIZON 20
UHD 4K projector with triple RGB laser source, featuring Google TV, motorised lens shift and built-in Harman Kardon speakers.
Description
The Xgimi Horizon 20 is a UHD 4K home cinema projector built around a triple RGB laser light source paired with a 0.47'' DMD DLP chip. It projects an image at a standard resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, with a throw ratio of 1.2 to 1.5:1 allowing it to cover a large wall surface from floor to ceiling. The unit also integrates the Google TV operating system, providing direct access to the main streaming platforms without an additional box.
The triple RGB laser source, combined with a brightness of 3,200 ISO lumens and a BT.2020 110% colour gamut, aims for precise and stable colour reproduction. The 20,000:1 contrast ratio (with DBLE enabled) enhances the depth of dark scenes, while support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced widens compatibility with HDR content. The latency, measured at 1 ms at 1080p@240Hz, 2.2 ms at 1080p@120Hz and 3 ms at 4K@60Hz, also makes it suitable for gaming use. The motorised lens shift (V±120% / H±45%) allows the image to be repositioned without moving the unit or resorting to digital cropping, and the built-in stand tilts for ceiling projection.
On the connectivity side, the Horizon 20 offers two HDMI ports, one of which supports eARC, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an optical output and an audio output, as well as a DC input. Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 facilitates network streaming. The 2 x 12W Harman/Kardon speakers integrate DTS Virtual:X.
This projector is aimed at users wishing to set up a large home cinema screen without complex cabling or a dedicated projection enclosure, whether for watching films and series via streaming or for gaming sessions benefiting from reduced latency.

What to check before buying used
On a laser projector, the light source itself degrades little over time, but the motorised lens shift module should be tested to ensure it moves smoothly across its full V±120% / H±45% range. Also check that the built-in tilting stand works properly, that focus is sharp across the entire image surface, and that there are no dead pixels or marks on the DMD chip. Checking the HDMI and USB ports and the Wi-Fi 6 connection confirms that all connectivity is functioning correctly.
