Yamaha NP-S303

The Yamaha NP-S303 is a network player designed to bring digital streaming to an existing hi-fi system, without replacing the amplifier or the speakers already in place. It connects as an additional source and turns a classic setup into a connected system, capable of playing online music services and integrating into a multiroom network.

Its digital-to-analogue conversion relies on a Burr-Brown DSD1791 DAC, capable of handling streams up to 24-bit / 192 kHz as well as the DSD128 format. This compatibility allows high-resolution files to be reproduced without degradation caused by insufficient conversion, a useful point for listeners with a library of hi-res files or subscriptions to high-quality services such as Tidal or Qobuz.

The unit natively integrates several streaming services: Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, Spotify Connect, as well as Internet radio, complemented by AirPlay and Bluetooth with AAC codec. On the network connectivity side, it offers Wi-Fi and an RJ45 Ethernet input for a stable wired connection, as well as a front-panel USB port allowing content to be played directly from a USB stick.

This network player is aimed at those who already own an amplifier or hi-fi system and wish to add high-resolution streaming without changing their entire setup. It is suitable both for standalone use and for integration into a MusicCast system spanning several rooms, controllable from a dedicated app.
