The NS-5000 is a three-way Hi-Fi bookshelf speaker designed by Yamaha as the worthy successor to the legendary NS-1000M. It follows in the line of the brand's reference models, conceived to reproduce music with great fidelity in a compact format intended to be placed on a stand or dedicated support.
The woofer measures 30 cm and comes with new diaphragms developed to offer an acoustic speed comparable to that of beryllium, a material renowned for its rigidity and lightness. This feature aims to limit diaphragm deformation during the reproduction of fast transients. The speaker also incorporates new R.S. (Resonance Suppression) chambers, designed to eliminate unwanted resonances in the midrange and treble registers, for a cleaner reproduction of voice and instruments.
The cabinet is made from laminated Japanese white birch plywood, a wood species native to the island of Hokkaido, assembled with particular care. This choice of material contributes to the rigidity of the cabinetwork, a factor that directly influences the sonic neutrality of the speaker by limiting unwanted cabinet vibrations.

It is also advisable to listen carefully to the midrange and tweeter diaphragms in order to detect any deformation or centring fault not visible to the naked eye.
