The Yamaha RX-A2A is a 7.2-channel audio-video receiver designed to drive a complete Home Cinema installation, handling both speaker amplification and the distribution of video sources to a television or projector. It combines decoding of immersive sound formats with the management of high-definition video streams within a single unit.
The stated power output is 100 W per channel into 8 ohms in two-channel use, and 150 W under JEITA measurement on a single channel into 8 ohms, reflecting a comfortable power reserve for driving speakers of average sensitivity. The Burr-Brown PCM5102A digital-to-analogue converter, capable of processing streams up to 384 kHz/32-bit, handles the conversion of the audio signal with good resolution. On the video side, HDMI passthrough accepts signals up to 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz, allowing recent sources, including new-generation games consoles, to pass through without signal degradation.

What to check before buying used
When buying used, it is advisable to check that all HDMI inputs and outputs work correctly, in particular their actual compatibility with the high resolutions stated, as well as the condition of the potentiometers and the protection relays of the amplification channels. Checking the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and MusicCast module is also worthwhile, as these connected features are more prone to software wear than the purely analogue part of the unit.
