Description
The SP3000T is a high-end audiophile portable player from Astell&Kern's A&ultima range, derived directly from the SP3000. It features a dual AKM DAC conversion stage enabling playback of Hi-Res files up to 32-bit / 768 kHz, as well as native decoding of DSD512 and MQA files.
Its distinctive feature lies in its triple amplification, offering a choice between tube, transistor or hybrid operation: allowing the sound to be adjusted according to preference or the headphones used. This flexibility is complemented by three distinct headphone outputs, unbalanced 3.5 mm mini-jack, balanced 2.5 mm jack and balanced 4.4 mm jack, to suit most headphones on the market. On the wireless side, Bluetooth 5.0 supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC codecs. Stated battery life reaches up to 10 hours of FLAC 16-bit/44.1 kHz playback, and a full charge takes around 3.5 hours via the USB-C port, which is also used for file transfer.
This portable player is aimed at demanding audiophiles wanting a portable device capable of rivalling a hi-fi system, particularly those wishing to experiment with different sound signatures thanks to the choice of amplification, or who own several headphones with varied connectors.

What to check before buying used
