The SP4000 is Astell&Kern's flagship digital audio player, belonging to the A&ultima series, the brand's flagship range designed to combine cutting-edge technology with high specifications. Successor to the SP3000, it is built on an advanced Octa audio circuit architecture, designed to deliver refined and powerful sound reproduction.
This player incorporates the full version of the Android operating system, which for the first time on an Astell&Kern device allows any application to be installed via the Google Play Store. To work around the sampling limitation inherent to Android, the brand has developed its proprietary ADP (Astell&Kern Direct Path) technology, which ensures lossless playback even when streaming.
The SP4000 is fitted with precision shielding made from 99.9% pure copper, a first for the Astell&Kern range. This shielding aims to limit electromagnetic interference and parasitic noise that could affect the audio block, with the goal of achieving a clearer, more distinct sound.
The user interface has been revised with a vinyl animation that appears and disappears when browsing albums. It retains the brand's signature Crimson theme, built around three concepts, Edge, Simple and Sensibility, intended to enhance ergonomics and navigation clarity.
