Description
The NAP108 is a multichannel power amplifier from Naim Audio, designed to drive up to eight separate audio feeds within a single installation. It allows several loudspeakers spread across different rooms to be powered, or can serve as the central power amplifier within an integrated audio system.
Each channel delivers 150 W into 8 ohms and up to 260 W into 4 ohms, with a total harmonic distortion of 0.006% and a signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dB, ensuring clean reproduction even at sustained levels. The 29 dB gain and extended frequency response from 3 Hz to 70 kHz allow faithful reproduction across the entire audible spectrum. The unit features 8 local RCA inputs and 2 L/R bus inputs, complemented by 10 RCA outputs for daisy-chaining with other amplifiers, as well as two Euroblock outputs per channel to facilitate parallel connections to multiple speakers. Independent gain adjustment per zone and automatic signal detection, with power-down after 20 minutes of inactivity, round out the feature set.

What to check before buying used
On a multichannel amplifier of this type, test each channel independently: a fault on just one of the eight channels can easily go unnoticed during a quick check. Pay attention to the condition of the power supply capacitors, whose ageing can result in a loss of dynamics or an audible hum. Also check that the Euroblock and RCA connectors, which are subject to multiple speaker cable connections, are securely fastened and free from oxidation.
