The Uniti Nova is an all-in-one integrated amplifier from Naim Audio, designed to bring together amplification, digital-to-analogue conversion and network streaming functions in a single unit. It is aimed at those who want a complete hi-fi system without multiplying separate components, while retaining a sound quality level close to what Naim's separates range offers.
The amplification is based on a class AB architecture delivering 2x80 W into 8 ohms, with discrete audiophile components and a toroidal transformer, designed to drive demanding speakers while retaining control over the bass and precision at the top of the spectrum. Digital conversion goes through a Texas Instruments 24-bit/192 kHz DAC, compatible with numerous formats including FLAC, WAV, DSD and ALAC, allowing high-resolution audio files to be used without additional equipment.
On the connectivity side, the unit offers numerous digital and analogue inputs: optical and coaxial S/PDIF inputs, a BNC input, an HDMI ARC input, USB type A inputs, RCA and DIN analogue inputs, as well as pre-out outputs for connecting an external power amplifier if needed. Network streaming is handled via WiFi, Bluetooth apt-X, AirPlay, DLNA, Google Cast Audio and Spotify Connect, with control possible from the Naim app on Android and iOS, as well as access to web radios and Tidal.

What to check before buying used
The network streaming module deserves a full test: WiFi, AirPlay, Spotify Connect and Google Cast should connect without dropouts or unexpected restarts of the unit. Also check that the USB type A inputs work correctly and that the various advertised hi-res formats are properly recognised, particularly DSD. The internal input-switching relays can produce a slight noise or channel cut-out with age: test each analogue and digital input one by one. Finally, make sure the volume knob responds smoothly and that the original remote control is functional.
