The Uniti Nova is an integrated amplifier from Naim Audio, designed as an all-in-one solution bringing together amplification, digital-to-analogue conversion and network streaming within a single compact chassis. It allows you to build a complete hi-fi system without multiplying separate components, whilst retaining an audiophile approach to circuit design.
The amplification delivers 2x80 W into 8 ohms in class A/B, sufficient power to drive demanding speakers with detail and dynamics. The circuit relies on discrete components and a substantial toroidal transformer, two choices that favour careful electrical isolation and improved sound stability. Digital conversion is handled by a 24-bit/192 kHz Texas Instrument DAC, compatible with numerous audio formats including WAV, FLAC, DSD, ALAC, AIFF, AAC, WMA, OGG and MP3.
On the connectivity side, the Uniti Nova features WiFi, Bluetooth apt-X, AirPlay, DLNA, Google Cast Audio and Spotify Connect, as well as compatibility with web radio and Tidal. It can also be controlled via the Naim app for Android and iOS, or by remote control.
The physical connectivity is particularly extensive: two Toslink optical inputs, two coaxial inputs, one BNC input, one HDMI ARC input, two USB type A inputs, two analogue RCA inputs, two analogue DIN inputs, two pre-outs (DIN and RCA) and one 3.5 mm mini-jack headphone output. This variety allows you to connect a digital source, a television, a turntable or headphones alike.

What to check before buying used
The streaming module and digital electronics generally age better than analogue circuits: above all, test WiFi stability and service recognition (Tidal, Spotify Connect) during a trial, as some older network modules can be temperamental after a firmware update. Also check that the remote control and the Naim app work properly, and that there is no hum from the toroidal transformer or noise in the volume potentiometer at extreme settings.
