Description
The Real Cable E HD Flat is a flat-format HDMI cable, certified HDMI 1.3 category 2 and HDCP. It allows HDMI equipment to be linked together, ensuring the transmission of digital video and audio over a single connection, with DeepColor and x.v.YCC (or x.v.Color) compatibility and Auto LipSync and CEC functions.
On the video side, it supports 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions at 50, 60 or 24 Hz. On the audio side, it carries Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD, PCM, LPCM, Dolby Digital/EX, DTS/ES and DTS 96/24 formats, thereby covering the majority of high-definition audio standards used in home cinema.
Its construction is based on oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors, a high-performance HD-PE insulator and double side-by-side shielding, designed to limit electrical interference. The joints are silver-soldered and the contacts are Gold-plated, two features intended to preserve connection quality over time.
Its flat format and flexibility make it primarily suited to short-run interconnections, for example around an HDMI amplifier, a switch or a distribution box, in installations involving several HDMI devices to be connected within a limited space.

What to check before buying used
On a flat HDMI cable like this one, attention should mainly focus on the connectors: with repeated handling, the gold-plated pins can tarnish or come slightly loose, causing intermittent picture dropouts or loss of digital sound. The flat sheath itself deserves close inspection, as micro-cracks or pronounced creases from repeated bending of the cable can damage the internal double shielding and reduce protection against interference. A full connection test in 1080p with the relevant soundtrack remains the best way to verify the integrity of the link.
