Description
The HD TDC600 is a speaker cable from Real Cable, designed to connect an amplifier to loudspeakers while limiting signal losses across the entire sound spectrum. It comes as an assembled cable with a length of 2 x 3 m, with a total conductor cross-section of 6 mm2.
Its construction combines several in-house technologies. The conductors combine oxygen-free copper (OFC), OCC copper and silver, arranged in groups of multiple-section strands insulated from one another according to the Quasi-Litz principle. This separation allows each frequency range to flow through a dedicated channel without interfering with the others: the channel reserved for low frequencies, which must carry higher currents, uses OCC copper to limit losses, while the channel dedicated to high frequencies incorporates silver for linear reproduction up to the high frequencies characteristic of DVD-audio and SACD formats. The various channels are sized to all present the same impedance, despite strands of a different nature, which aims to preserve the coherence of the transmitted signal. The positive and negative conductors are also separated by air via a Hollow tube type structure and twisted, in order to reduce the cable's linear capacitance and inductance.
This cable is intended for hi-fi installations where the aim is to connect an amplifier to speakers with carefully considered wiring, in pursuit of transparency and balance between the low, mid and high registers.

What to check before buying used
The banana or spade connectors at the ends deserve a check for tightness and oxidation, as a loose connector can introduce contact noise or a loss of level on a single channel. The Quasi-Litz separation between OFC, OCC and silver strands means checking for the absence of internal breaks along the entire length, as a bent or crushed cable can damage a group of conductors without this being visible from the outside. The sheath and shielding must remain intact along the full 2 x 3 m, with no sign of crushing or overly tight bends.
