Rega ELBT Reference

The ELBT Reference belt is a drive component designed by Rega for its belt-driven turntables. It provides the mechanical link between the motor and the platter, a decisive element for rotational consistency and therefore for playback quality.

This belt has been fitted as standard on all Planar 8 and Planar 10 models since 8 March 2021, making it the original reference part for these high-end turntables from the brand. It nonetheless remains compatible with the full range of Rega turntables, regardless of model.

Its manufacture relies on moulding carried out with high-precision bespoke tooling and a material blend unique to Rega. After moulding, each belt is cryogenically frozen and then ground to remove burrs and achieve a perfectly round cross-section. This geometric consistency is directly linked to the stability of the platter's rotational speed. A specific vulcanisation treatment completes the process to guarantee the precision of every unit.

Rega states that, under normal conditions of use, this belt offers a lifespan 50% longer than that of the model it replaces.

It is intended for owners of Rega turntables wishing to replace a worn belt with a part conforming to the original specifications, whether for a Planar 8, Planar 10, or any other model in the range. It is particularly recommended for the Planar 6 and Planar 3 fitted with the Rega Neo TT power supply.

When purchasing a turntable belt, it is worth checking its exact compatibility with the turntable model concerned, as well as the absence of any deformation or loss of elasticity, two factors that directly affect the stability of playback speed.
