Reloop TURN 5

The Reloop TURN5 is a direct-drive Hi-Fi turntable, designed for precise and stable sound reproduction. It is aimed at vinyl enthusiasts seeking a reliable motor and careful construction, without the usual compromises of entry-level turntables.

Its brushless direct current, direct-drive motor ensures constant rotation and sufficient torque for stable playback. The turntable is manufactured using precision die-casting techniques, and rests on a damping rubber base intended to limit resonances; a 5 mm rubber mat is supplied for the platter, also contributing to vibration absorption. Three speeds are available, 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm, the latter allowing playback of old shellac records provided a suitable mono cartridge is used, not supplied. The S-shaped, statically balanced tonearm is supplied with a hydraulic lift, anti-skate adjustment and height adjustment with VTA locking, to optimise groove tracking depending on the cartridge used.

The headshell uses a universal SME-type locking mechanism, making cartridge changes easier, and the supplied counterweight can accommodate cartridges of varying masses, including heavier models. The Ortofon 2M Red cartridge, with elliptical stylus, is supplied already fitted to the headshell. At the rear, the turntable features a gold-plated RCA phono output with a separate earth connection to limit interference; the power and RCA cables are detachable for easy replacement.

This model is suited to a home Hi-Fi setup where a solid foundation for vinyl listening is required, with the possibility of upgrading the cartridge thanks to the SME mechanism and adjustable counterweight. It will suit both a beginner wanting an already-fitted cartridge and a more experienced enthusiast wishing to experiment with other cartridges.
