Description
The Target HR70 Audio is a speaker stand from the HR (High Rigidity) range, designed and manufactured in Canada. It is intended to hold bookshelf speakers, providing them with a raised, stable support decoupled from the floor, at a height designed to place the speakers at a suitable listening position.
Its structure rests on two square columns with a 4-inch section, fillable with sand. This weighting principle increases the mass of the stand and dampens resonances inherent to the structure, which limits parasitic vibrations transmitted to the speaker placed on top. The height of 28 inches (approximately 711 mm) places the stand within the classic range of bookshelf speaker supports for seated listening.

What to check before buying used
Long-term durability depends mainly on the weighting sand: check that the columns have not been filled with a material that has absorbed moisture, which would promote oxidation of the internal metal parts and fixing screws. Inspect the matt black finish, which is prone to chips and scratches on the edges of the square columns, and check for the presence of the original spikes, top pucks and pads, which are often lost during house moves. Finally, check the flatness of the top and bottom plates, as a warped stand would compromise the intended coupling with the speaker and the floor.
